United handed hom draw in JPT...
Leeds United will play Grimsby Town in the Northern Area Quarter-Finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
The clash against the Mariners, which will be played during the week commencing November 9, is United's reward for beating Darlington 2-1 at Elland Road this week in the second round of the competition.
It will be the first competitive meeting between the two clubs for almost 12 years. The last time Grimsby visited Elland Road was in the FA Cup fourth round in 1998 when goals from Rob Molenaar and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink secured United a 2-0 win.
The two sides have met regularly in pre-season during recent times. Luciano Becchio was the goalscorer when United drew 1-1 at Blundell Park back in July.
The tie will mean an Elland Road return for former United midfielder Peter Sweeney who joined Grimsby Town on a permanent basis during the summer.
Ticket information will be available in due course.
